Creating custom patterns for fill and pen styles

There are 72 patterns available to use as a fill or pen style in the Attributes palette. You can customize patterns 36 through 71; patterns 0 through 35 cannot be edited. Customizations are saved with the file.
To reuse the custom patterns in other files, save the file as a template file. See Concept: Templates for more information.
To customize the patterns available in the current file:
Select the command. The Edit Patterns dialog box opens.
Patterns 36 through 71 can be selected from the list; select a pattern and edit it.

The edited patterns are available from the Fill Pattern and Pen Pattern boxes on the Attributes palette, for the current file only.
